まずはMetallica.comの公式アナウンスの管理人拙訳からどうぞ。

先週、サンフランシスコで由緒あるフィルモアで四夜に渡って世界中から集まってくれたファンクラブ・メンバーと一緒に俺たちの30周年を祝った。どの夜も盛大なパーティーとなったよ！

もし、俺たちと一緒にパーティーに参加してくれていたら、本当に来てくれてありがとう。そして、参加してくれたかどうかに関わらず、毎晩「新曲」を１曲ずつちょっとしたいたずら心でセットリストに組み入れた『Death Magnetic』のセッションから生まれた未発表曲を聴いてくれたかもしれない。

今週、この4曲を北米限定で、iTunesと他のデジタル音楽配信サービスを通じて『Beyond Magnetic EP』としてリリースする。4曲ともスタジオ版は、フィルモアのステージでお披露目してすぐにMetClubのメンバーに送ったよ。明日、デジタル・ダウンロードというマジックを通じて誰でも入手可能になるんだ。これらの曲はラフ・ミックスで2008年3月のミックスのまま、未完成なんだ。鋭い音楽センスをもっていたら、2008年夏の『Mission Metallica』で配信された動画の中からその断片を見れるかもしれないね。

サンフランシスコに来てくれたみんな、改めてありがとう。ラーズが最終日のショーの終わりに言ったところによると、2012年6月に双方向のスペシャルなファン・イベントを行うアナウンスを引っさげて来年1月にここに戻ってくるとのこと・・・。俺たちはみんなにまた旅行をするようお願いするかもしれないよ！

セットリストで気になるところはやはり未発表曲「Just a Bullet Away」が一番に目を引くところでしょうか。
YouTubeでもさっそくあがっていました。

さらに１曲目の「To Live Is to Die」のフル・ヴァージョン。「Justice Medley」の一部としてライヴで披露されたことはありますがフルでは初めてとのこと。

ゲストもジェイソン・ニューステッドが連日の参加。
その他のゲストで主だったところは以下の通り。

・マリアンヌ・フェイスフル・・・「The Memory Remains」で共演。同曲のPVにも出演。
・ジョン・ブッシュ（アーマード・セイント、アンスラックス他）・・・草創期メタリカからヴォーカルとして加入を誘われるも所属バンドを優先して固辞。
・ルー・リード・・・コラボ作『LULU』でメタリカと共演
・キッド・ロック・・・「Sad But True」をサンプリングで使用した「American Bad Ass」でテレビ収録を共演。
・キング・ダイアモンド、ハンク・シャーマン、マイケル・デナー、ティミ・ハンセン・・・メタリカもカバー曲を出しているデンマークのHMバンド、マーシフル・フェイトのオリジナル・メンバー
・スコット・イアン（アンスラックス）・・・メタリカとの親交厚いBIG4の一角アンスラックスのギタリスト
・レイ・ホーラー（スウィート・サヴェージ）・・・「Killing Time」をメタリカがカバーしたスウィート・サヴェージのヴォーカル。
・ジョーイ・ヴェラ、ゴンゾ・サンドヴァル・・・ジョン・ブッシュ同様、アーマード・セイントでデビュー。メタリカとも草創期から交流あり。

カバー曲では、初日と同じくご本人登場パターンがいくつか。個人的に熱いのはジョン・ブッシュがヴォーカルを共にした「The Four Horsemen」とジェイソンの咆哮付きの「Creeping Death」でしょうかね！

いやぁ、こんなセトリはここでしか聴けないだろうな。。
メタリカのライヴの前にはアーマード・セイントのライヴやスコット・イアンとカーク・ハメットによるクリフ・バートンの思い出話が語られたとか。

あと２日、一体どうなっちまうんだ！
